tuesday march 27
today i had my first full day with my new 'desk fan.' it is quite small, and entirely child-safe, which prompted me to stick my fingers into the moving blade approximately 50 or 60 times over the course of the day. the sound that this produced was not unlike the sound a lawn mower emits when it runs over a moderately sized stick.

Either I have a crappy lawn mower or our definitions of "moderately sized stick" differs, since whenever I run over a "moderately sized stick" I hear a quite jarring sound. Definitely not the kind of sound I'd like to hear when sticking my finger in a Luke-safe fan.
alternately: it sounds like when you use a power saw to cut a piece of wood.
