friday june 1

today i bought dinner at a tim horton's at a service centre along the highway to toronto. because i'd only brought $10 along with me, and didn't want to have to resort to any 'debiting,' i bought the cheapest sandwich possible, the $3.17 chicken salad, rather than the more expensive ham and swiss i really coveted.

Good thing you preemptively went for the cash sandwich, as Tim Horton's refuses to implement a debit system in any of their restaurants.

whoa whoa. are you telling me that all tim horton's locations are cash only? how did i never notice this before?? and: why? i guess it'd be annoying and slow if everyone used debit to pay for a $1.50 coffee but still.

No, Luke, it would be annoying. No still about it.
It's annoying enough when people get food orders in the drive-thru; I don't have time for (inexcusable) backwards swiping and wrong button pushes. I have people to meet and many places to see.

False

If you're talking about debit, then prove me wrong Dana!

You're right Sarah-Joyce, it's for expediency of service. My friend was a manager for many years.

I think they tried to correct this with the Tim Card or something. They tried it at Sheridan when I went there, but it's not implemented everywhere and it probably wont be.

How wrong you are, Stu. 'Twill be implemented indeed. Sooner than you know. I say.
