today i struggled my way through usher's "climax" in a private karaoke room, missing a few notes and lines and not being sure a couple times if i was even singing in the right key. fortunately, during one instrumental break, i heard someone across the room use the phrase "voice of an angel" in apparent earnest, which gave me a lot of maybe-unwarranted confidence for the home stretch.

It was pretty incredible, man.
I had a lot of feelings about that performance.
Last public karaoke I did was "Little Red Corvette" by Prince in Tacoma, Washington on Halloween. You never know how many instrumental breaks or spoken-word interludes are in a song until you have to sing it.
Wait I couldn't have been that drunk? I thought your "Climax" was really great.
Wait...shit.
thanks pals. either you guys are too nice or i have unrealistically high expectations for my singing. maybe both.
More like voice of an angle
