tuesday august 5
today i spoke to my next-door neighbour wayne for the fourth time in four days. i've now spoken to wayne four times as often as i talked to my next-door neighbours during the four years i spent at my last place.

I actively avoid my similarly-aged next-door neighbor after a painfully-awkward first-day-having-moved-in conversation. Mostly because I asked him what kind of music he liked and he said EDM, and I hear that fucking shit leaking through the wall. Negative points when he had a blank stare when I mentioned some of my favorite bands.
So now that I've been here 10 months, it's just incredibly awkward. Yesterday we both pulled into our apartment's lot at the same time, and I pretended to be on a phone call in my car as I waited for him to go up into his apartment. Such behavior is extremely common.
